This Farm’s Been In My Family Since Circa 1890

My family loves this land. It’s as important to us as the air we breathe!

I grew up on this farm, but like many young people I left after high school—first for college and then to work (in San Francisco). Yet I never really left. My heart was always with the farm, seeking a way to return.

The path opened 21 years later, in 2003. My wife, Michelle, and I attended a talk on nutrition by Dr. Thomas Cowan, MD. I was riveted by his two key points: (1) healthy food creates healthy people, and (2) processed food isn’t healthy.

Until then, I hadn’t thought much about what I ate. Instantly, everything changed.

The next day we changed from processed food to real food and within a few days we felt better and experienced health improvements. That realization illuminated my life mission: to raise healthy food so others could experience better health too.

Michelle and I decided to use my family’s farm in Oregon’s Willamette Valley to raise grass-fed meat – because it’s hard to find and we want to help remedy that. And Oregon’s abundant rainfall ensures our animals enjoy lush green pastures.

Our mission is to produce the healthiest, most nutritious food available anywhere for those who are concerned about the food they eat and how it is raised.

We’ve come a long way since our start. We’re now raising beef, pork, chicken, turkeys seasonally, and even a little goat, and we have exciting plans for the future.

Thanks for visiting our web site. We hope to meet you personally before long.

Here’s to real food,

Bernard Smith
