Holiday Turkeys
Pasture-raised, free-roaming turkeys.
The entire life-cycle of turkey production exists right here on our farm. Our breeding flock of Bourbon Red turkeys live their lives on our farm, enjoying our lush, green pastures, and providing us with fertile eggs. We incubate and hatch our own turkey poults (aka “chicks”) and provide them with a warm, clean brooder their first few weeks of life. Later, they go onto pasture where they’re free to roam. Turkey (and chicken) fertilizer provides nitrogen for our pastures and is an important component of pasture health.
Certification: Our flock is certfied with the Henhouse Coaching Network and the International Center for Poultry. Information about that certification program can be found here: HCN Certified Flock Guidelines
Feed: Pasture grasses, weeds, and insects plus locally produced, certified organic, non-GMO, soy-free and corn-free feed.
Nutrition: The nutrient value of our pastured turkeys is comparable to that of our chickens: higher omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B12, and folic acid.
